Measuring

  • Use a steel measuring tape with mm.
  • Measure all windows, even if they appear to be the same size.
  • Decide whether the blinds will fit inside the window frame (reveal fit) or outside the window frame (face fit).

Reveal Fit Blinds

Blind will fit inside the window frame, make sure you have enough depth for the blinds. You will need minimum 50mm depth in the window frame to make a good fit. This is a part reveal fit. For the blind to be completely inside the frame you require an unobstructed depth of 74mm.

WIDTH:
Measure the exact width from left to right of the window frame, in three places, top, middle, and bottom. Write down the smallest of the three measurements – this is the width you will order. Do not make any deduction, we will deduct 10mm from the width of your window.

DROP:
Measure the exact height from the top to bottom inside the window frame, in three places, left, middle and right. Write down the smallest of the three measurements – this is the drop you will order. Do not make any deduction, we will deduct 10mm from the drop of your window measurement.

Face Fit Blinds

Blind will fit outside the window frame. If the window opening has architraves surrounding it, the blinds will be fitted to these.

WIDTH:
At the top of the window, measure the exact width from outside edge of architrave on the left side of the window to outside edge of architrave on the right side of the window. Make no deductions. This will be the width of your blinds. If there is no architrave, choose the amount you wish the blinds to overlap with the window opening. We suggest a minimum of 20 mm on both sides.

DROP:
Measure the exact height from top edge of architrave at top of window down to the bottom of window. Make no deductions.
